This back tattoo was prepared for Jonathan and it was designed to integrate a Samoan half sleeve tattoo he already had, with this new part that includes a dragon and three koi fish.
The thorns and fa´atigipusa motif on the back show a painful path which turns and remains in the past.
The dragon represents his fighting spirit keeping the problems away, pushing them far to get back to joy and prosperity (the sun, fish, and net on top) with the protection of the all-seeing eye.
Spearheads and octopus tentacles (warrior, tenacity, and adaptability) go throughout the whole body of the dragon.
The three koi fish include different symbols that relate to different meanings: net and fish scales for protection, fish for prosperity, and an ipu for fertility and abundance.
The trochus shell represents status and prosperity, the centipedes are symbolic of fighting spirit, and the marks are to represent each goal set, which he achieves thanks to his attitude.
The octopus tentacles symbolize tenacity, and the stepping stones represent his achievements.
