We prepared this half sleeve tattoo for Richard taking inspiration from the Maori kirituhi (skin art) style.
To represent some people and events that Richard holds dear to him we inserted Polynesian non-Maori elements into this design, redrawn to integrate into the general style.
Some koru (new life) represent his brothers and sisters while the two enata on top represent his parents guarding from above.
The double spiral starting from the marriage symbol represents union among partners below the protection of the manaia.
The hammerhead shark motif symbolizes tenacity, the sea shell symbolizes love and the sun is for joy and positivity.
The inner motifs represent union and strength.
