This Polynesian half sleeve tattoo was prepared for Benjamin and it includes elements related to his family and to his home in New Mexico.
Family is the central theme, with flax leaves and braids for family
union.
Several animals are included within the tattoo, each one
representing a family member: a wolf is central on the shoulder, with
two whooping cranes below it on the sides protecting the sun and
Marquesan cross in the middle (joy and balance).
The braids are a symbol of family union.
On the sides of the cranes we placed a roadrunner and a quail, while the
ahuahu o Mataora motif shapes buck horns.
Spearheads symbolize Benjamin's warrior spirit while the birds and mÅlina represent the voyage to reach stability (the mountains) and prosperity.
On the sides of the wolf there are two lizards in a circle and elements for prosperity (fish and fish hook, coconut leaves) shaping a bigger sun around the shoulder while stepping stones going all around the arm at the lower edge symbolize achievements, and the two tiki on the sides bring protection from all directions.
