This design is derived by the Maori twist symbol, which represents a strong bond that is gonna last forever between two people whom, even if getting sometimes far, will always be back together.

Here we made it with two crescent moons (femininity) to indicate friendship and a strong bond between two women, such as two sisters or mother and daughter.
